As a vegan dietitian, I am well versed in recommending snack options to plant-based eaters that are both nutritious and filling. I’m happy to say that these 5 fit the bill beautifully and I would highly recommend checking them out. 5. LUNA BAR – Gluten Free Bar – Lemon Zest – 190 calories


What we love: Luna Bars are targeted towards women but these vegan snack bars are a great additional to any day to help fill in nutritional gaps. These bars have less sugar than many other bars (9 grams per bar) and with 3 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein, Luna Bars are sure to be a great addition to your snack routine. Find them on Amazon and feel free to explore other flavors but this happens to be our favorite and a fan favorite for years now. 

Considerations: Luna Bars are not soy free unlike other vegan snack bars on the list and if you are soy sensitive, it’s advised to look for a different option. Also, the creamy coating has a tendency to melt easily and you’ll wanna keep these bars out of the sun/heat.

4. Health Warrior Chia Bars – 100 calories each

What we love: Health Warrior Chia Vegan Snack Bars are one of the smallest snack bars on the market that easily fits into purses, backpacks, laptop bags, desk drawers, and car center compartments to cover you whenever snack time hits. The won’t melt or be a crumby mess and with superfood chia seeds, the vegan snack bars provide ALA Omega-3 fatty acids that prevent against inflammation. Get these superfood snack bars on Amazon to try them for yourself. 

Considerations: Depending on how big of a snack you need, these Health Warrior Chia Vegan Snack Bars may not be large enough and you may need more than one or combine the bar with a piece of fruit.

3. LARABAR, Fruit & Nut Bar, Cherry Pie, Gluten Free, Vegan, Whole 30 Compliant – 200 calories

What we love: Larabars were the original vegan fruit and nut bar and since it’s inception many years ago, the company continues to provide high quality vegan fruit and nut based bars without fillers, additives, or processed ingredients. Available on Amazon in 26 flavors, you’ll always have a new one to try and won’t get burnt out! We have a few favorites including Cherry Pie, Cashew Cookie, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Coconut Cream Pie.

Considerations: Because the bars are mostly date based, they can be a bit sweet for some taste buds and I’d recommend eating a Larabar with a few nuts or slab on some nut butter to help cut the sweetness a bit.

2. Vega Protein+ Snack Bars Gluten Free, Chocolate Peanut Butter – 200 calories

What we love: With 200 calories, 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber from whole plant-based foods, these Vega snack bars are bound to keep you satisfied and sustained than other options. The bars are affordable and quite the bang for the buck with that protein content. You can find them here on Amazon and see what I mean (you can also see how people love them!).

Considerations: The plant-based vegan snack bars are only available in 2 flavors but both are great tasting although we error on the chocolate peanut butter side.

1.Orgain Organic Protein Bar, S’Mores, Vegan, Gluten Free, Non-GMO, USDA Organic – 140 calories

What we love: This beast of a vegan snack bar only has 140 calories but packs in a whopping 10 grams of plant-based protein. That’s a considerable amount in what is a tiny bar. The snack bars are not overly sweet but will satisfy a sweet tooth craving – we especially like the s’mores flavor (although it doesn’t really taste like s’mores). Find the vegan Orgain protein bars in all the flavors you’ll be dying to try here on Amazon.  

Considerations: Although the vegan snack bars are gluten free, soy free, and non-GMO, the ingredients are more of a traditional protein bar with less whole foods. But again, when it comes to staying full, it’s hard to pass up on that fiber and protein.
