Hello world! I’m so glad you’re visiting my website. Isn’t it fantastic that veganism has become so mainstream?! I’ve been a vegetarian/vegan for most of the my life. I transitioned from vegetarian to full vegan about 10 years ago. It was tough in those early days to find vegan products or to even find restaurants with vegan friendly menus. Being a vegan was like having some sort of contagious disease. A lot has changed since those early days. I don’t have to explain what “Vegan” means anymore. Veganism has become the “it” thing, thanks in part to the Millennials coming of age. Now you can find tons of vegan products and most cities have at least a handful of vegan restaurants. Isn’t it just wonderful!?

In addition to being a vegan, I also have a Master of Science in Nutrition, a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, and I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD). Yes, I admit it, I love everything about food: how it’s grown, processed, cooked, and how food impacts our bodies.

As I see it, the explosion in vegan products is mostly fantastic and a welcome change to the scarcity of products in the past, but just like with the Gluten-free craze, I see many vegan products on the market that are clearly taking advantage of the “Vegan” label. A “Vegan” label doesn’t always mean the product is good for you or even has wholesome ingredients. For example, those nasty, pre-packaged cherry pies you can find at the gas station are in fact vegan. I wouldn’t eat them and I don’t recommend you eat them. My goal with this website is to unmask the not so great vegan products and highlight the truly great vegan products.
