What We Love: So Delicious Coconutmilk Yogurt is one of the only vegan plant-based yogurts that adds calcium and Vitamin D. With 20% of your daily calcium needs, and 10% of your Vitamin D needs, it closely resembles dairy yogurt in that regard. However, there is only 1 gram of plant-based protein and it would be a good idea to add nuts, seeds, or throw it into a protein smoothie if you’re eating it at a meal to help you stay more satisfied. Considerations: This is an ultra creamy coconutmilk based yogurt that tastes ultra decadent but without any dairy however, with only one gram of plant-based protein, it’s not going to be the best vegan yogurt at a meal.
What We Love: Siggi’s Coconut Blend Vegan Yogurt has 10 grams of plant-based protein to help keep you full and satisfied in between meals. They do add a bit of sugar, with seven grams of added sugar per container. So, this vegan yogurt would be best if you’re on the go and you don’t have the capacity to add fruit/sweetener and you want one already sweetened. There are a whopping five live active cultures in this vegan yogurt (while some vegan yogurts only have one or two). These live active strains can help support a healthy gut and healthy body. Considerations: If you are looking for a completely sugar free vegan yogurt option, consider alternatives on this list as there are seven grams of added sugar from cane sugar. The ingredients are still very clean and this is a great vegan probiotic containing yogurt.
What We Love: Forager vegan yogurts are one of the more creamy smooth vegan yogurts out there made of cashews when most other vegan yogurts use a coconut, almond, or soy base. There is no added sugar, but the rich taste can complement any granola or adds well into a sauce to help make it creamy without the dairy. What We Love: With only five ingredients, the Kite Hill Unsweetened Yogurt is one of the most minimal vegan yogurts available and is great for toddlers, kids, and adults alike looking to minimize the overall ingredients consumed in food. Considerations: There are four live active cultures in this yogurt, but more live active cultures doesn’t always mean better and this is still a fantastic vegan probiotic yogurt option.
What We Love: This Greek Style Kite Hill vegan yogurt has about twice the amount of protein, with 13 grams of plant-based protein per 2/3 cup serving. That’s awesome! If you’re looking for a vegan, no sugar added/unsweetened yogurt that also tastes smooth, creamy, rich, and decadent, the Kite Hill Plain Unsweetened Greek Style Yogurt is where it’s at! Considerations: Because this yogurt is ultra-strained to provide twice the amount of protein, it is a bit more expensive than the traditional Kite Hill almond based yogurt as it has less water and more almonds aka more protein. This can be a great thing though if you’re looking for ways to increase your vegan protein intake, especially when it’s this easy with a high protein vegan yogurt – again 13 grams of protein per 2/3 cup serving!
