Yes! Wierd, right??! Even though the flaky cracker touts itself for being buttery, there are no animal products in the Ritz Original crackers.
This goes for many available flavors: Ritz Crackers Original, Ritz Crackers Roasted Vegetable, Ritz Crackers Whole Wheat, Ritz Crackers Bacon Flavored, and the Ritz Cracker Toasted Chips in Original and Multigrain do not have any animal derived products. However, eating vegan bacon flavored crackers is just a bit weird to me and I can’t say I’ll be running towards those ones anytime soon!
However, when it comes to the other Ritz Original crackers, they all have a similar ingredient list you can see here:
Although the Ritz Original crackers are vegan, variations of the cracker including the Ritz Crisps and Thins are not all vegan.
Vegan Ritz Crisp Flavors: Only the Sea Salt + Vinegar and Smoked Chipotle
The other varieties of the Ritz Toasted Chips, Ritz bits, or Ritz Sandwich Crackers are not vegan.
So for all you peanut butter and cracker lovers, I recommend trying the Ritz Original Crackers and make your own PB sandwich with your favorite peanut butter.
My favorite peanut butter is Teddie’s Peanut Butter. Have you tried it?? Check out my review on the peanut butter here and then check out the vegan Ritz Original crackers here. Yum!
What in the Toasted Chips Multigrain makes it non-vegan friendly?
They are. Maybe they changed ingredients or something. I read this shocked as I was eating them know I had looked at the ingredients numerous times. Then I did some more looking and found it is vegan on another website. Not all of the varieties are but original and multigrain don’t have any animal products.
Yes, the toasted chips are vegan – I just didn’t have them listed either way in the original post because to me they are so different than Ritz crackers – but yes, vegan!
What about the natural flavor? Does that contain any animal products ?
Are the Ritz barbecue crisps vegan?
Yes, the Barbeque Ritz crisps are vegan.
Do you mean the original version of ritz? Those are vegan. I don’t know that I’ve seen a natural flavor before and I don’t see one on the website.
Hi! I’ve had no luck finding the type of sugar that Nabisco uses in their products – so I would say that “sugar” makes it non-vegan if you consider the bone char in the process of refined sugar.
I agree. Unless they make it clear what type of sugar, Ritz Crackers are NOT VEGAN
The toasted chips in multigrain are vegan – I just didn’t list them either way in the original posting as I was primarily referring to and writing about the traditional Ritz cracker variations.
