Aloha is a plant-based nutrition company that believes that plants are the best source of nourishment but that nourishment should also be really convenient. Started in 2012, the company has evolved over the years to offer vegan protein powders, vegan protein bars, superfood green powders, along with green and herbal teas.

The Aloha organic plant-based protein bars are non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free, stevia free, and USDA certified organic. Each bar has 14 grams of protein and comes in six different flavors! You can find the vegan protein bars in Chocolate Fudge Brownie Protein Bar, Chocolate Mint Protein Bar, Mocha Protein Bar, Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Bar, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bar, and Vanilla Almond Crunch Protein Bar.

We’re going to take a closer look at the Chocolate Fudge Brownie Protein bar because who doesn’t want a chocolatey treat that also packs the same amount of protein as two eggs? It sounds like a win win! If you’re ready to check them out for yourself, head on over to Amazon and try Aloha vegan protein bars.

Unwrapping the Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie Organic Plant-Based Protein Bar (vegan)

Taste Experience – 6.5 out of 10

At first glance, the bar is firmer, heavier, and denser than any brownie I’ve consumed but it smells like a rich chocolate brownie (with a subtle healthy sweet smell). The front end of the first bite is sweet, just like tapioca syrup but then it rounds off and I can taste the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chocolate powder. The lingering aftertaste reminds me of several other protein bars – chalky and not the best. Granted, this bar has more protein than a lot of vegan protein bars on the market but it would be nice if it tasted like chocolate the whole way through. But then I suppose I’d be eating a candy bar and not a protein nutrition bar! 🙂

The consistency is firm, chewy, and densely packed but not smooth/oily as fudge. It feels more like the protein powder and tapioca starch were pressed into oblivion. It left a slight mouth texture but mostly the protein powder aftertaste was the worst part. Again, if I was looking for a candy bar, this is not what I would choose but I can tell that Aloha bars don’t add fillers and other crap and for that reason I can appreciate the taste as it is. You should try them out for yourself here on Amazon and see what I mean.

Taking a Bite of the Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie Plant-Based Organic Vegan Protein Bar

Nutrition – 9 out of 10

Each Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie plant-based protein bar contains the nutrition you’re looking for in a convenient package. The vegan protein bar has 230 calories, 9 grams of fat (from the nuts and seeds), 14 grams of protein (pumpkin seed and brown rice protein base), and 7 grams of fiber to help keep you satisfied for a small meal or in between meals.

Aloha adds minimal salt and the Chocolate Fudge Brownie contains only 85mg of sodium (half the amount as in a 1oz serving of most potato or tortilla chips). In general Aloha doesn’t add fillers and additives – mostly whole foods with a single ingredient.

The Aloha plant-based protein bars do not add vitamins and minerals. With that being said, there is still 15% daily value for iron (from the protein base blend likely) and 2% of your calcium needs for the day (again likely related to the protein base blend of pumpkin seeds and brown rice protein.

This bar has a subtle chocolate decadence taste but does score big time when looking at the nutrition label. Check the highly nutritious bars out on Amazon.

The Non-Vegan Review – 6 out 10

Hello all of you glowing vegan people. Yes, these Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie protein bars are not the best tasting, but the ingredients list is wholesome and your getting a ton of vegan protein in a decent tasting bar. They are a bit dry and stale tasting, but again, you’re getting a crap ton of protein in a small bar. You shouldn’t really expect a vegan protein bar to taste like a Snickers bar. I say give these a try if you want some clean protein with a nice chocolate flavor. If you don’t like them, try the Aloha Vanilla Almond bars or the many other flavors Aloha offers. You can read my wife’s review of the Vanilla Almond flavor by clicking HERE. Anywho, you can help support this website by buying your vegan goodies from Amazon by using my wife’s link, just click right here. Thanks for swinging by. Non-vegan husband out.

Parting Thoughts

The Aloha Chocolate Fudge Brownie plant-based protein bar packs a ton of nutrition but not quite the same amount of taste. The bar can be a bit chalky but considering there are 14 grams of protein, it becomes a nutritionally dense choice with iron, magnesium, and calcium. The bar doesn’t melt or crumble making it easy for on-the-go, in the car, and at the desk nutrition. Buy yourself this flavor for a slight chocolate treat or one of the other five flavors available on Amazon.
