What do you know about magnesium?? Do you know that it’s a giant mineral that we all need for cellular and metabolic function but that about 80% of Americans are not getting enough magnesium. Adequate levels of magnesium can help improve your sleeping patterns and has a way of reducing anxiety and stress. I take magnesium every night and on the nights I don’t take it, I can feel like something is missing – like I’m in a bit more of a funk and it’s hard to move about life. Magnesium helps support healthy brain function and can prevent preeclampsia in pregnancy. Magnesium is also called nature’s natural relaxant as it has been shown to help ease anxiety and nerve tension. So let’s find out how the Natural Calm magnesium chews stacks up in terms of nutrition and taste or head over to Amazon to check out Natural Calm Magnesium today.
Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium comes in both a powder mix (in unflavored, raspberry lemon, strawberry mango, watermelon, sweet lemon, cherry, and orange) and also in gummies (only available in the raspberry-lemon flavor). I have tried both the raspberry lemon flavored gummies and drink powder mix and while I prefer the gummies (feels like an evening treat!), my husband perfers the drink mix (he thinks it works better for him). With that being said, I’ll be briefly reviewing both with a focus on the gummies because well…they are my favorite.
The Natural Vitality Calm drink mix in raspberry lemon dissolves completely in a large glass of room temperature or cold water. I personally think it’s best super duper cold with a lot of ice. This makes it taste like a raspberry lemonade and it’s quite tart, lightly sweet, and tastier than any crystal light packet or actual raspberry lemonade. I think part of that is that there is not any sugar but yet the natural raspberry and lemon flavors provide enough tartness and sweetness. Plus, with two teaspoons providing 325mg magnesium, or 77% of the daily value, it’s a heck of a lot more magnesium than you would be able to find in any other type of multivitamin.
The Natural Vitality Calm Gummies only available in raspberry lemon flavor are also just tart enough but sweeter than the drink mix. The gummy is surprisingly vegan (I know, crazy, right?!). Most gummy candies and supplements contain gelatin but the Natural Vitality Calm Gummies contain tapioca syrup, vegetable glycerin, agar, and locust bean gum along with organic cane sugar to create the gummy part. Interestingly, the chew tastes so much like a candy that I would have no idea it’s a magnesium supplement and I honestly have to limit myself as it is super easy to eat more than the recommend serving of 4 gummies. In those 4 gummies, you’ll find 330mg magnesium or about 79% of the daily value. There is slightly more calories and carbohydrates in the gummies compared to the powder mix but still in the 4 gummies, there’s only 8 grams of total carbohydrate with three grams of added sugar. Compared to other gummy supplements or certainly compared to other gummy candies, this is on the low end. Again, I find the gummies taste like a nice little treat in the evening after dinner and have become part of my evening ritual in slowing down and appreciating the moment. I highly recommend that if you have anxiety, if you’re pregnant, you have regular leg cramps, or you want to ensure that you’re consuming enough magnesium (as most Americans are not), than I would strongly recommend checking out Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium Gummies.
As mentioned briefly above, in 4 Natural Vitality Calm Gummies, you’ll find 28 calories with only 8 grams of total carbohydrate and 3 grams of added sugar. Each serving of 4 gummies contains 330mg magnesium or 79% of the daily value to help ease anxiety, help with constipation, and help release nerve tension.
Magnesium is an essential mineral that helps the body with an estimated 300+ reactions including easing tension while you sleep and relaxing muscles (which is one of the major benefits when you start taking magnesium).
If you’re looking to supplement magnesium in the diet to help meet your needs (since it’s estimated that over 65% of Americans are deficient in magnesium), to help relax stressed or overworked muscles, or to help get better sleep, Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium is by far one of the best magnesium supplements on the market. The ionized magnesium citrate is easily digestible and the gummies and drink mix are so tasty that you won’t even know that you’re taking a magnesium supplement. In fact, it’s still a good idea to adhere to the serving size as too much magnesium can produce loose bowel movements. Since magnesium isn’t found in your multivitamin (as it’s too big of a mineral) but it’s a vital mineral for many different body functions, I would strongly recommend checking out magnesium supplementation with the vegan Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium Chews HERE.
